Terror Info
After spawning, Paraselene will be dropped on a random thorn, dealing enough to instantly kill all players she lands on and bypassing protection while bumping other players in the area. The music will also be changed. Paraselene cannot be stunned
Paraselene will remain stationary on the thorn they dropped on and begin attacking players. All of Paraselene’s attacks will target random players and are used significantly often.
- Cold - Players nearby Paraselene will be slowed and gradually frozen.
- Glacial Meteors - A large ice-like spike is dropped at a high speed towards random players, with a short indication on where it’ll hit. This deal enough to instantly kills players hit directly by it and deals moderate damage to nearby players while also inflicting freezing. This spike becomes lodged into the ground, forming into a very large impassable barrier as well that remains for the rest of the round.
- Glacial Spike Ring - A ring of ice spike projectiles appear around random players in a circle along with thin indicators, then are shot towards the players at high speeds. The spikes deal moderate damage and slow players down for a significant amount of time. Additionally, they will all collide in the middle, creating a small explosion that deals heavy damage.
- Glacial Spike Barrage - Spikes will rapidly be shot in random directions towards random players with thin indicators showing their direction, travelling infinitely.
- Pattern Pillars - Creates magic circles in the sky above the player in a random preset pattern, which will then fire downwards, dealing heavy damage.
- Moon Beam - Paraselene will aim towards a player and fire a massive beam in their direction, which will slowly follow behind them. If this beam kills the player, it will remain in place or shift towards another player.
- Loneliness - Every 70-80 seconds, all terrors will become Frozen, and Paraselene will blind everyone displaying a message for a short amount of time, making them immortal as well during the message. Afterwards, Paraselene will release a huge snowy shockwave, creating a global blizzard that will heavily slow and gradually freeze on all players for around 20 seconds. Standing very close to another player will prevent the player from being frozen. However, during this, Paraselene will continue to drop Glacial Meteors on players; requiring players to avoid them while staying together for the duration of the attack which is made difficult due to the slowdown. After this is done, Paraselene will continue its regular attack pattern and terrors will be unfrozen.
Trivia
- Paraselene cannot be an elite.
- Unlike Parhelion, Paraselene does not have a second phase, instead having a mass attack used on intervals.
- Paraselene’s Loneliness attack is inspired by Caligo, Miasma of Night from Elden Ring: Nightreign.
- Likewise, it will always happen in sync with the music.
- The Torch of Obsession can very quickly reduce freezing, making it very useful for surviving Paraselene.
- A few other specific terrors are also immune to Paraselene’s freeze, such as Terry and Killer Fish.
- Have Plush will negate freezing entirely; making Paraselene much more manageable.
- Like Parhelion’s name coming from “dog sun”, Paraselene’s name comes from the term “dog moon”.
- As Paraselene is the opposite to Parhelion, they are much quieter and overall more gloomy.
- It’s said that Parhelion dragged the moon out of the sky as he could not stand it having glory over the night, which is how Paraselene was born.
- It has been stated that Parhelion and Paraselene know each other, and that their relationship with each other has been described as “toxic”, though this has not been elaborated on.
