Terror Info
Monika is a local terror that appears shortly after spawning. She can also be summoned using Pink USB Drive. She will occasionally pop up on the player's hand UI, covering it up. After she does this, something has a chance of happening, with what happens being based on how Monika feels about the player.
Monika’s happiness will vary randomly when appearing and can actively change while she is talking, either gaining happiness or losing happiness. She has four main moods.
- Happy
Monika will interact with the player in a happy manner, and will likely give the player a buff or an item if the player does not currently have one. The buffs she can give are Swiftness, Regeneration, Full Health, and Iron Skin; while the items she can give are Emerald Coil, Pot of Greed, Dev Phone, or Silver Coil. She also has a rare chance to give you luck when giving you any buff. - Neutral
Monika will interact in a neutral manner to the player. There is a small chance Monika can give a positive buff while neutral, but nothing negative. - Unhappy
Monika will interact in a sadden/frustrated manner to the player. Monika has a small chance to inflict a random debuff, or trigger a jumpscare after a random amount of time. The debuffs Monika can inflict are Burn, Curse, Slowness, Sin, Paralysis, and NO HEALTH?. - Angry
Monika will interact hostile, while also causing UI ‘glitches’ after going away. Monika will always jumpscare the player a random time after this, but may also cause a negative buff or set the players HP to 1; though never both.
There are several factors that can also manipulate her mood.
- Monika will randomly gain or lose mood when appearing, and each time she is speaking.
- Ignoring Monika while she is active will cause mood to drop. This is only a feature in VR, as Monika is onscreen by default Desktop.
- Lower HP will cause Monika to have higher odds of being in a better mood.
- If Monika was spawned by Pink USB Drive or the player has Pink USB Drive while she is active, she will immediately gain happiness and continue to innately gain happiness every time she appears.
- Holding “Just Monika” can passively increase Monika’s happiness.
- Holding any Plushie item will increase Monika’s happiness and also trigger special dialogue when appearing.
- Holding “Girlfriend” will instantly drop Monika’s happiness to 0 and also trigger special dialogue when appearing.
Monika has 6 jumpscares that she can do on the player; with each of them having different effects or animations associated with them. They are typically meant to be disruptive; but some are able to be much more dangerous than others. Players are also not immortal during these, meaning players can die during them.
- Black Screen Monika
The screen will become black, with only a black and white Monika in view. After a short amount of time, she jumpscares the player which will cause the player's items to be replaced with “Just Monika”; effectively removing it. Unequipping Just Monika by grabbing a new item will make Monika remain Angry for the rest of the round; though this does not happen if it is removed by Monika herself. - Creepy Face
A distorted Monika face will slowly begin to appear overlaid in the middle of the screen, before making the screen black and jumpscaring the player. - Stabbing
The player will begin to bleed, occasionally releasing blood. This also inflicts the Bleed debuff, overriding any existing buffs. The player's vision will eventually fade out and be replaced with space, before the player is returned to reality with static. - Pop-up
Monika’s textbox will appear in the middle of the screen, overlaying over everything, where Monika will pop up and then cut everything to black with only her on the screen before returning everything to normal. - Peek-a-boo
Monika will slide in from the side of the screen, before glitching and flashing static. - Illusions
Monika’s will begin appearing randomly, popping in and out moving very quickly towards the player, before eventually closing in. Afterwards, the screen will go black. When the player returns to reality, they will be warped to a random location on the map.
Trivia
- Occasionally, Monika can permanently remove the music from a round after a jumpscare event. This is a bug.
- Monika is able to give Trickster Shades items, making her one of the only ways Trickster Shades can get items outside of Birthright.
- Monika can rarely be summoned by taking damage from Glitched elites.
- A few of Monika’s hostile abilities can be negated with Have Plush, such as being teleported during Illusions. This also has the benefit of adding happiness to Monika.

Technically cannot kill you, but in most cases only exists to make your life harder. Just remember to keep an eye on her when she appears if you're in VR. Scavenger can mitigate the potential item loss due to their multiple inventory slots, but for most other perks this is devastating.

She can replace your screen with a spooooky image of herself (a colorless freezeframe of her on a full-black background) for several seconds, which will likely get you killed in a chase
