Terror Info

After spawning in, all players will gain immunity and be warped to a special location where a cutscene will play. Players will appear to be disconnected from VRChat; then everything will go black. Shortly after, a picture of three smiley faces will appear on the screen and play “You Are An Idiot”. During the laughing section, they will distort heavily, then the player will be teleported back into the map where they were with their immunity removed.

Oyo, Aro, and Yhor will all spawn at the same thorn one at a time in the order of Oyo, Ayo, and Yhor, each appearing around 8 seconds after the last and creating a loud roar as they appear. God's Scam will also force players into first person and change music.

Oyo, Aro, and Yhor all function the same with a few tweaks between them. All 3 entities will target people individually. They will change targets every 22-33 seconds if they are not currently attacking or if the player dies, swapping to the next closest player.

Every couple seconds, they will create a path out of various points from themselves in the direction of their target. This path will always try to aim at their current target, but will also include randomized offsets as well as predict the target’s movements while generating and can also be seen through walls similar to the entities themselves. They will always create a fixed amount of points that varies per entity. They will also often overshoot their target, causing them to make multiple passes through them if they are too close which can be difficult to evade.

Once the path is constructed, after a very short delay, they will charge at an extremely high speed along the path they have created while screaming, dealing enough to instantly kill any players hit by them and flashing the screen, the color corresponding to the one attacking. If a player is “grazed” by any of the God's Scam while it is charging, they will get a very quick flash of garbled text on their screen as well.

The primary difference between the three entities are their distance between points as well as their cooldowns between attacks.

  • Oyo has a slower charge and medium range. It creates 6 points, creates white paths, and flashes the screen white when attacking.
  • Aro has a faster charge and faster cooldown between charges, but a shorter range. It creates 4 points, creates red paths, and flashes the screen red when attacking.
  • Yhor has the fastest charge, the longest range, but the slowest cooldown between attacks. It creates 9 points, creates black paths, and flashes the screen black when attacking. Additionally, Yhor speaks globally when preparing its attack.

The primary difference between the three entities are their distance between points as well as their cooldowns between attacks.

  • Oyo - After a charge, Oyo can fire out a ring of feather-like moderately sized knife projectiles horizontally dealing low damage and inflicting Sin on hit.
  • Aro - After a charge, Aro can create a red orb around it that darkens, then causes an explosion within, dealing heavy damage and slowness and bumping players up high. This is also able to bypass protection.
  • Yhor - If Yhor is close enough to a player, the player will receive a random Glitched elite effect; typically when charging.

Trivia

  • God's Scam is heavily inspired by the Geminus event from Nico’s Nextbots, with the entities involved functioning the same way Ramiel and Sariel do.
  • God's Scam is also based on “You Are An Idiot”, an old website trojan virus.
  • Oyo and Aro both appear in terry_game, a joke game by Beyond as enemies.
  • Originally, Aro appeared identically to APE. Both also share very similar VFX.
  • The numbers & random letters on the players screen are various phrases in Hex and UTF-8.
  • Yhor is the only God’s Scam that can speak. The voice used originates from https://fasthub.net/ using the Whisper setting.
  • Aro is very aggressive and rarely swaps targets due to the lack of downtime between attacks; which often makes it miss most of its opportunities to swap targets.
  • Due to them moving players into a special area of the world when spawning in, sometimes teleporting terrors may manage to warp to the area. However as players are immortal during the cutscene, they are harmless. Players can remove their immunity using certain items and die here however.
  • God’s Scam is immune to any abilities that cause terrors to change targets, such as the Ghost status effect.
  • Players with Have Plush are unaffected by the graze effects of God’s Scam, including Yhor’s glitch effects.
  • They all used to be a single entity before being separated, a result of scamming God.
