Terror Info

Carnival cannot be stunned, but can be clashed.

A ‘tokens’ counter will appear on the player's UI. Every 20 seconds, Carnival will shine a star sign on players screens. Depending on the star sign, players must do a certain action in order to garner tokens. Whenever a token is earned, the player is showered in confetti, cheering, and also gets healed for around 3 HP.

  • Aries - Moving at a high enough speed will reward 1 token every 3 seconds.
  • Cancer - Being at over 100 HP will reward 1 token every 3 seconds.
  • Libra - Being near another player will reward 1 token every 3 seconds.
  • Virgo - Getting hit for over 10 damage will reward 1 token.
  • Capricorn - Standing still will reward 1 token every 3 seconds.
  • Scorpio - Stunning a terror will reward 1 token. (Tases/ArcNeko do not count)

Carnival itself will chase players at a slow speed, occasionally talking in a harsh distorted tone. When any player has more than 20 tokens, Carnival will enrage and become much faster however.

Whenever Carnival hits a player, it will steal tokens from them. If the player has no tokens to steal, they will instantly die. Carnival has a small moveset; dealing very little damage with its attacks but always stealing tokens.

ALWAYS

  • Coronation - After three games, Carnival stops and charges a massive AOE shockwave that spans a good chunk of the map. This shockwave will consume 10 tokens of all players hit by it but deal no damage. This is the primary gimmick of Carnival, with it requiring players to have enough tokens to survive this attack while not storing too much as to buff Carnival. This also bypasses protection and bumps players.

BEFORE ENRAGE

  • Clumsy Swing - Carnival swings its arms slowly, hitting players 4 times in rapid succession dealing very low damage.

AFTER ENRAGE

  • Swing - Carnival swings its arms quickly, hitting players for low damage.
  • Bash - Carnival swings its arms downwards quickly, hitting players for low damage and slowing them.
  • Spin - At a distance, Carnival stops and begins spinning, dealing rapid low damage and stealing tokens for around 2 seconds while also doubling its current speed. It will then stop for a moment after the spin has finished.

Trivia

  • Carnival cannot become an Elite.
  • Carnival is heavily inspired by a boss from OFF with the same name.
  • Carnival also takes a bit of design inspiration from the Jester from Depth Spelunking
  • Carnival’s voice is sampled from this and this video by ToskaVA.
  • Carnival may be easier if players ignore its mechanics and simply stay away from it as it will always remain slow so long as no players gain over 20 tokens. However, Carnival can also be beneficial due to the HP restoration from gaining Tokens.
  • Carnival once brought joy to children. However, Carnival never let them go, even after they grew up. The adults didn't want to play, which made Carnival angry as it could no longer do what it wanted to do. Carnival began to hate them for growing up, and now keeps them as its prisoners hoping that one day they can go back to being children.
